O-Flash – The Fun Ring Flash Attachment

I finally got around to trying out my 0-flash, its an adapter for a standard flash to turn it into a ring flash. Exciting! I really look forward to playing more with it, so I need some folks that would be willing to stick themselves in front of the lens. Please contact me if you are willing to be a Guinea pig for a little bit.

Photographers – Canon Announces 7D Firmware Update

Normally I don’t post things like this around here, but its just too exciting (for me, and possibly if any of you fine folks shoot with a Canon 7D) to not share.  Some of these features will really help me out on shoots and I am really looking forward to trying to in camera editing. These features should really improve my workflow and that is always a positive. Now I just need to find a camera connection kit for my ipad and I will be able to have large scale previews available onsite and immediate. Technology is a great thing.

New Facebook Integration

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’ve had my fears that Facebook will eventually go the way of MySpace, Friendster, and whatever other defunct social networks you may have used. Now that Facebook has added timeline, gone public, and done other things to those of us who use the fan pages I feel that this might happen sooner or later. Hopefully never for Zucks sake… But I’m going to take this moment to lean more heavily on my website for communication.

This doesn’t mean that you won’t see activity on Facebook anymore. What I will be doing is posting 90 percent of the content here at bigjohnsphotography.com and posting links on Facebook for you to follow if you wish to see the photos, read the stories or anything else that comes spewing forth from my brain.

It’s also a good time to remind you that if you use an rss reader like Google Reader, you can subscribe to the website updates and ensure you won’t miss anything. Oh… And I know I haven’t sent out a newsletter yet, but it will happen one day, so take a second to sign up for it.

A Few Website Additions

Just a quick note that I added a couple images to the portrait portfolio, an image to the transportation section, and added a NEW gallery that is dedicated to the fun photos I do that are just for me that everyone should get to see!

Poke around!

Margie, We are proud of you! Congrats!

I just wanted to take this moment to say congratulations to my wonderful wife Margie. She recently was asked to become an Ambassador for 1st Step Pro-Wellness, a supplement company. She gained this honor by working hard and dedicating herself to the iron game, and nutrition. If you have an interest in following her efforts, and learning about diet, nutrition and fitness related topics go to her Facebook page and give it a like, you won’t be sorry.
